Introduction of the process of anti-corrosion wood anti-corrosion treatment

Anti-corrosion treatment Wood is a surface coating or wood that injects chemicals under pressure. Chemicals enhance their ability to withstand corrosion and insects. Anti-corrosion wood experts remind everyone that the anti-corrosion treatment process does not change the basic characteristics of wood, but on the contrary can improve the service life of wooden building materials under severe conditions of use.

If working effectively, wood preservatives must be used under controlled conditions in accordance with known specifications to ensure good protection of the wood. The reason why the tree species can be easily preserved is because of the principles of cell biology and the procedures used. Canada has a wide variety of wood species. Some tree species are more difficult to pressurize.

Antiseptic program

Most preservative treatments use a whole body impregnation method in which the wood is placed in a high pressure vessel and the air in the wood cells is extracted using a vacuum cleaner. The preservative solution can enter the cylinder where it is drawn into the cells by a vacuum cleaner. Then use a high pressure of 690 to 1380 kPa (100 to 200 psi) to force more preservative into the wood, and finally use a vacuum cleaner to remove excess chemicals from the surface.

For all types of preservative treatment methods, the amount of preservative that can enter and remain in the cell depends, in part, on the moisture content of the wood. The amount of moisture present in the cell cavity during the treatment of the method affects the influx of the preservative.

For this reason, the moisture content of wood raw materials is an important aspect of quality control.

For water-soluble preservatives, the water content of the treated sawn wood should be in the lower range (15% to 25%) so that the preservative can easily enter and chemically react on the cell wall. If there is excess water in the cells, the rebound pressure will expel the preservative from the cells once the treatment pressure has subsided.

In order to enhance the penetration of wood preservatives, an adjustment procedure is applied to reduce the moisture content of the wood. The method may be air drying, kiln drying or steaming and vacuuming in a processing cylinder, or boiling the treatment solution under vacuum.

In order to avoid the release of excess chemicals after treatment, time should be allowed at the manufacturing site to allow the chemicals entering the wood cell wall to be fixed. Once the fixation phase is over, the water-soluble preservative is chemically adsorbed on the cell wall.

Preservative retention

Retention is usually expressed in kilograms of preservative per cubic meter of wood (pounds per cubic foot), which is the amount of preservative that remains in the wood after the end of the treatment cycle and is a measure of the degree of protection.

Preservatives can penetrate into plywood more easily than solid wood because the veneer cutting procedure opens up the wood texture. These small cracks are difficult to detect with the naked eye, but the preservative is easily infiltrated under high pressure.

Infiltration of preservatives

The degree of penetration is the depth at which the preservative chemicals enter the wood. It marks the degree of protection. The amount of infiltration is determined based on the quality of the tree species and the processing procedure. The greater the infiltration depth, the less likely the protected high pressure treated wood will be damaged.

In some cases, the penetration of the chemical can be improved by cutting the sawn surface with a knife to form an artificial opening for chemical preservatives to enter the wood. Thanks to the new cutting technology, the appearance of the board does not change due to the cutting.
