At present, there are more than 100 polyurethane rubber manufacturers in China, of which more than 10 large-scale, foreign-funded enterprises are located in the coastal areas of Guangdong and Fujian. Guangdong Nannan Hainan Chemical Packaging Co., Ltd. and Babol Chemical Co., Ltd. have a capacity of 10,000 tons. the above. In recent years, Dawning Chemical Research Institute and Luoyang Jiming Company have been developing new varieties and matching primers that are equivalent to foreign products.
There are two main types of one-component moisture-curable polyurethane sealants. One is an elastic sealant for construction, automotive, and mechanical instruments; the other is a foam sealant used for sealing between doors and windows and insulation of pipes. The former, Shandong Chemical Plant has introduced AM series production lines, J Series of Dawning Chemical Research Institute, and U Series developed by Beijing Westing Adhesive Sealing Materials Co., Ltd. have been widely used in mechanical instruments and buildings. The latter, in addition to Germany has invested in the construction of the Heqing Industrial Zone in Pudong, Shanghai, Liming Chemical Research Institute, Jiangsu Chemical Industry Institute and Jilin Chaolong Chemical Company have also successfully developed this product.
75% high solid content and solvent-free polyurethane adhesives have been successfully developed by Nanjing Forestry University, Beijing Chemical Research Institute and Liming Chemical Research Institute. The Dawn Chemical Research Institute L-805 solvent-free adhesive is now available in volume. The newly developed T-3061 Polyurethane Hot Melt Adhesive has established 100t pilot plant, mainly used for metal, plastic and wood bonding.
In general, the domestic polyurethane adhesive industry has a great development and scale, and the level of technology has also improved, but the gap is still relatively large compared with foreign countries. More than 95% of shoe adhesives with the largest amount of application still rely on imports. The scale of domestically developed products is relatively small, and the equipment and processes are relatively backward. The performance of products, especially batch stability, is still not up to foreign standards. Special adhesives, structural adhesives, water-based adhesives and hot-melt adhesives are all in the small-scale production stage. The market is still dominated by imported products.
Silicone Adhesives Silicone sealants are characterized by good durability, workability, and sealability. It can be made into high-grade sealing material, which is mainly used for sealing and bonding of window glass and glass curtain wall. At present, there are mainly single-component, two-component, flame-retardant and high-temperature type silicone sealants. At present, China consumes about 10,000 tons of silicone sealant annually.
Neoprene China currently has single and neoprene copolymers in addition to single neoprene, such as CR-MMA binary rubber, neoprene-styrene-butadiene rubber and neoprene-acrylic acid-MMA three Yuanjiao and so on. In 1998, the demand for neoprene for footwear in China was 90,000 tons, accounting for 41.3%, and neoprene for construction and decoration was 80,000 tons, accounting for 36.7%; in 2005, the use of rubber for shoes was expected to reach 120,000 tons.
Instant Adhesives and Anaerobic Adhesives Chinese cyanoacrylates and anaerobic adhesives and second-generation acrylate adhesives (SGA) have developed rapidly in recent years. In 1998, the output of cyanoacrylate was 1150 tons, and anaerobic adhesive was 205 tons, which was 36% higher than that in 1997. It has been able to meet domestic demand and some of them can be exported. In 2005, cyanoacrylate and anaerobic adhesive will reach 2,500t and 560t, respectively. In the future, it is mainly to improve the stability of parts, improve product quality and storage stability, enhance water resistance, temperature resistance, resistance to media properties and fast curing properties.
