Foreign inventions aromatic polycarbonate synthesis method

Recently, a new method for the synthesis of polycarbonates has been invented abroad, involving the synthesis of aromatic polycarbonates.

It is reported that this method is divided into two process steps. According to experts, the first step is to dissolve bisphenol A, alkali, relative molecular mass regulators, antioxidants, and 100% of the catalyst in water to form an aqueous phase. The organic solvent is used as the organic phase and the liquid phosgene or phosgene is used. The solution is added to the system and the interface is polycondensed for 10 to 20 minutes. The second step is to add the relative molecular weight regulator and alkali to the system and blow gaseous phosgene for 20 to 60 minutes. The whole process system has a pH>10, and no residual phenols precipitate out after acidification of the reaction wastewater.

Comparing with the original one-step and two-step synthesis of polycarbonate technology, this method has complete conversion of bisphenol A, appropriate reaction time and good heat resistance of the product.
