Inkjet printing is advancing into almost all printing fields. Inkjet printing paper is the ultimate carrier for ink jet printing technology. There are several ways to measure the print quality, but the performance of the paper and the properties of the paint in the paint are the final quality of the print. The study of the impact has not been conducted in depth. The printing engineering department of Tianjin University of Science and Technology regards this as a research topic and hopes to help the inkjet paper makers to improve the performance of paper coatings and reasonably select pigments according to the user's printing needs, so as to achieve cost savings.

The subject mainly analyzes the basic performance and printing performance of inkjet paper, combines traditional and modern methods of evaluation, and establishes an inkjet printing image rendering index IRI model as a standard for evaluating the quality of inkjet paper. Through the quality evaluation system, the effects of the properties of coated silica pigments and calcium carbonate pigments on the coated paper and printing performance were further analyzed. The conclusion is that the whiteness and absorption of the paper have a great influence on the reproduction of the color; the opacity and the absorption have a great influence on the sharpness of the image, especially the influence of the opacity on the dot diffusion ratio of the ink dots and the roundness of the ink dots. Slightly larger, and the absorption has a slightly greater effect on the roughness of the ink dot edge. From a comprehensive evaluation point of view, the degree of influence of the various properties of the paper on the overall quality of printing is in order of absorbency, opacity, whiteness, and smoothness. Matte inkjet paper with good absorbency, opacity, and high whiteness can achieve better inkjet printing results.

Effect of Silica Pigment on the Properties of Inkjet Paper Papers High-purity, high-whiteness, small-particle-size silica pigments were obtained after matte coating, as analyzed by the index number IRI for inkjet printed images in the comprehensive evaluation system. Inkjet paper can achieve better ink jet printing results. At the same time, it verified the feasibility of applying the IRI evaluation index. Studies have shown that the effect of mixed pigments of calcium carbonate and different silicas on the performance of ink jet paper is that the amount of silica substituted by calcium carbonate increases, and the color reproducibility and image clarity of the resulting coated paper are improved. Decreased; but at a substitution of 10%, coated paper prints better, close to or better than a single silica coated paper.

By the ink-jet printing image rendering index IRI, it was analyzed that calcium carbonate replaces small-particle-size, high-purity silica pigments, and the resulting coated paper has better print quality than large-particle-size, low-purity pigments. However, when calcium carbonate has a large particle size and high purity silica substitution of 20%, the resulting coated paper has a slightly better printing effect.

The effect of mixed pigments of silica and different calcium carbonates on the performance of ink-jet printing paper was analyzed by using the ink-jet printing image rendering index IRI. The silicon oxide pigments were replaced by small-particle-size, high-white calcium carbonate pigments. The vividness, fidelity, and image sharpness of the printed color of the paper are higher than those of the calcium carbonate pigment with a low whiteness and large particle size.
