Six details to consider before molding plastic bottles

It should be noted that the shape of the plastic bottle must be symmetrical. Minimize extreme stretch points and locations. All transitions use circular transitions.

1 Make the plastic bottle wall thickness uniform.

The most concentrated part of consumers' attention. The appearance of the printing should be smooth and continuous; if the liquid plastic bottle contains handles, grooves, ribs, etc.

2 Plastic bottle printing surface. Design should be careful not to cause inconvenience to the printing operation.

The label surface should be flat. A “sash” can be designed on the outside of the plastic bottle so that the label can be accurately positioned.

3 When the plastic bottle is labelled. No movement.

If the middle of the plastic bottle is relatively small,

4 Change the appearance of the plastic bottle. Adding a circumferential groove or rib on the outside of the plastic bottle can increase the rigidity and bending resistance of the plastic bottle. Longitudinal grooves or ribs eliminate plastic bottle deflection, sagging or deformation under temporary load.

If the material is high density polyethylene or polypropylene,

5 When designing extruded plastic bottles. The cross-section of a plastic bottle should be rectangular or elliptical. For materials made of low-density polyethylene or other flexible plastic bottles, the cross section is preferably circular. This facilitates the extrusion of the contents from the plastic bottle. The part of the parison that is inflated first,

6 When blow molding. Always tend to harden the area first. Therefore, the wall thickness of this part is also larger. The area where the edge and corner, the parison is inflated last, is the wall thickness of the part. Therefore, the edge of the plastic bottle and the corner should be rounded.
