According to the engineer, the pipe fitting uses Charpy impact as a control indicator to prevent its brittle fracture. The latest test temperature of PetroChina's latest standard is -45 ° C. The current development results show that the welding seam of such pipe fittings is also difficult to meet the low temperature Charpy Test requirements.

It is understood that the low-temperature liquid-gas separator at the first station of the West-East Gas Pipeline had a brittle fracture, causing a major accident. At the station yard west of Urumqi on the West Second Line, because some of the three links failed to meet the low temperature test requirements, additional heating and insulation measures had to be adopted. Therefore, domestic efforts are still needed to develop high-strength low-temperature thick-walled pipe steel with good welding performance.
