Introduction to the use of digital multimeter

1. Measurement of AC and DC voltage: Turn the range switch to the appropriate range of DCV (DC) or ACV (AC) as required. Insert the red test lead into the V / Ω hole and the black test lead into the COM hole, and connect the test lead in parallel with the line under test

When measuring voltage, a digital multimeter should be connected in parallel with the circuit under test. When measuring current, it should be connected in series with the circuit under test. It is not necessary to consider the positive and negative polarities when measuring DC

2. On-off test: Turn the range switch to the diode gear, the light is on and there is a beep to indicate that the circuit is on

3. Resistance measurement: Set the range switch to the appropriate range of Ω, the red test lead is inserted into the V / Ω hole, and the black test lead is inserted into the COM hole. If the measured resistance value exceeds the maximum value of the selected range, the multimeter will display "1", and a higher range should be selected at this time. When measuring resistance, the red test lead is positive and the black test lead is negative, which is the opposite of a pointer multimeter. Therefore, when measuring polar components such as transistors and electrolytic capacitors, you must pay attention to the polarity of the test leads.

4. Capacitance and temperature measurement: select the appropriate range according to the capacitance, the rest is the same as above and will not be repeated. It is strictly forbidden to measure the capacitor charged with voltage

5. AC and DC current measurement 1. Insert the black test lead into the COM jack. When measuring the maximum current of 200 mA, the red test lead is inserted into the mA jack. When measuring the maximum current of 20 A, the red test lead is inserted into the 20 A jack.

Note: In most cases, the damage of the digital multimeter is caused by the wrong measurement position. For example, when measuring AC mains, the measurement position is selected to be placed in an electrical barrier. In this case, once the pen touches the mains, it can be caused instantly The internal components of the multimeter are damaged. Therefore, before measuring with a multimeter, be sure to check whether the measurement gear is correct. After use, place the measurement selection at AC 750V or DC 1000V, so that no matter what parameters are wrongly measured during the next measurement, it will not cause damage to the digital multimeter.
